SAGADA ACCOMMODATION

Please stay away from LUCKY MOREL INN in Sagada!!! Photos posted on their Facebook page were deceiving, the pictures posted has painted walls and double beds with coordinating bed sheet and pillow cases. When I inquired the owner Mary Lily Bagtang told me that the room for 4pax costs 1,400 pesos per night which consists of 350/head (250 for the accommodation and 100 for the breakfast). There's a lot of positive comments and nice photos on Facebook and all of the other Inns were fully booked at that time so I decided to reserve a room for 2 nights last April 18-19. 

1. There are four of us but the room given to us only has a single bed and a double size thin foam on the floor. The room has no walking space, not even an inch so we have to leave our shoes outside the rooms and stack our bags under the single bed. The GI flat sheet walling outside the house was directly the walling of the room- no plywood double walling whatsoever.

2. Ipis(cockroach) and other insects were crawling on the wall.

3. The bathroom/toilet has uneven flooring, its ok that it was not even tiled but the cemented floor was very dirty. The plastic bag intended for garbage was overflowing. The lighting was very dim and a lot of electrical wires were just dangling above. There’s no faucet inside the bathroom. Instead we had to use the dirty water coming from the drainage from the sink outside the bathroom. For example, when somebody washes his/her hands on the sink, the water will drain directly on the bathroom floor. This dirty water will then be used to flush the toilet. Therefore, when you’re taking a bath or using the toilet dirty water from the sink outside will just flow on your feet, which is really disgusting!!!

The breakfast that we paid 100/person consisted of 1 small and thin hotdog, 1 sunny-side-up egg , fried rice and coffee from the usual 5 pesos coffee vending machine. There were no other choices but this.

Since I only deposited payment for the 1st night we have decided to look for another Inn and we transferred the next morning. After eating breakfast I told Mary Lily Bagtang that we’re not going to stay for another night since we are not comfortable. She suddenly got hysterical and she started yelling at me that we have to pay for the 2nd night because it was already reserved to us. I tried to explain my reasons but she kept on saying that: 

“yan ang hirap sa inyo mga taga-Manila, ang arte-arte nyo!” “diba sinabi ko simple house yun.” “yan ang kalakaran dito sa Sagada, pag napa-reserve mo na kailangan mo bayaran!” “ipapa-ban ko kayo ditto sa Sagada, hindi na kayo makakabalik dito!” “irereklamo ko kayo sa barangay!”

When she told me that she will file a complaint, I told her, “tara po, dun tayo mag-usap sa tourism office.” And I turned my back and walked away. She did not follow me. She then texted me these messages:

“Ok sana di k mgaya sa florida god bless pinagtawanan k nga ng mga kumakain dtoi”
“Sosyalera bundok to leche”
"Hinahanap k nmin sinabi ko n sa mga tga ditto san k kala ko pupunta tyo sa barangay”

I filed an official complaint at the Sagada Tourism Office. I relayed what happened to the officials and they told me that Lucky Morels Inn was overlooked by the authorities and they will act on it. 

Kudos to the Sagada Municipal Tourism Office because at 9:30 in the morning today, April 21, I just received a text from Mr. Robert Pangod, the Municipal Tourism Officer of Sagada:

"This is Robert Pangod-Sagada Municipal Tourism Officer. Thank you for your complaint-report re Lucky Morel Inn. Rest assured that we will act on your complaint the soonest. We shall not tolerate such attitude of Mary Lily. Our apologies."

Buti nalang pala at nag-file ako ng official complaint kung hindi marami pa maloloko ang Mary Lily Bagtang na ito. She posted a lot of rubbish on her page but it doesn't bother me kasi alam ko kung ano ang totoo. I even have pictures to prove it.
